Matric (Grade 12) Certificate plus minimum of three-year (3) (NQF 6) qualification in the field of Economic Trade Development / Finance or equivalent. Knowledge in the field of economic development, export and investment promotion. A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in economic development-related field. A valid driver’s license. Competencies: Broad knowledge and understanding of South African economic policy, strategy and legislation applicable to economic development. Knowledge of the North West Economy. Knowledge of national and provincial economic development policies and strategies. Skills and Knowledge: Economic analysis skills. Ability to interpret and apply policy. Basic research skills. Report writing skills. Presentation skills. Application of project management principles to development planning. Good verbal/written communication skills. Innovative thinker. Ability to work in a team.
Provide support in the development and the implementation of export, investment promotion initiatives. Identify investment opportunities, scoping and packaging of investment projects. Profiling of investment projects. Provide support in identification, development and implementation of export trade and investment promotion initiatives. Liaise with all spheres of government and all stakeholders on trade and investment related initiatives. Facilitate and coordinate trade and commerce activities to support industry development. Evaluate the implementation of trade and investment strategies.
