Job Requirements
A National Senior Certificate / an equivalent plus an appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF 6) in Transport Management / Transport Management / Transport Economics / Logistics or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field / area as recognized by the South African Qualification Authority SAQA). 3 years’ experience at supervisory level in the same or related field. Valid Driver’s Licence (Except for people with disabilities). Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of National Land Transport Act, 5 of 2009 and its regulations, Knowledge of all Public Transport products and programs, Public Transport history and current situation in SA, Financial Management & PFMA, Supply Chain Management, Labour Relation Act, Sound and in-depth knowledge of relevant prescripts and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service i.e. Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Negotiation Skills, People Management, Financial Solving, Planning & Organizing, Time Management, Strategic Planning, Policy Analysis and Development, Good Communication Skills, Group dynamics, Diversity Management-ordination Skills, Leadership Skills.
Duties
Monitor the registration and licensing of public transport and transport operators. Monitor the resolution of transport operator conflicts. Ensure 147 PUBLIC transport operator safety and compliance. Coordinate provincial regulatory entity hearings.
