Job Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic reading and writing skills. Experience: Appropriate porter experience within a hospital environment. 220 Inherent requirement of the job: The ability to do physical tasks such as lifting of patients from/onto beds, trolleys and wheelchairs. Render a shift duty and rotate in different departments. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic knowledge of Infection Prevention Control procedures. Appropriate knowledge of porter service delivery within a hospital. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Duties
Safe transport of patients on trolleys and wheelchairs, within various areas in the hospital. Check and replace gas cylinders in wards and assist with shifting of medical equipment. Ensure a safe and hygienic work environment and apply basic Infection prevention control measures as well as collecting and cleaning of equipment. Assist with the removal of bodies from wards and perform relevant duties. Collecting and delivery of blood specimens, blood hampers and patient folders. Assist with ambulatory patients as well as greeting and directing patients to various areas in the hospital.
