Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent practice). Inherent requirements of the job: Commuted overtime is compulsory. Emergency and after hour call cover. FCS (SA) primary examination. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge, expertise and experience with regards to providing medical services in General Surgery. Appropriate and sufficient clinical experience since obtaining the degree of MBChB and after completion of internal rotations. Previous research experience (publication/conference presentation). Post community service experience in General Surgery. FCS (SA) intermediate examination.
R1 041 402 per annum, (A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual’s personal needs). (It will be expected of the successful candidate to participate in a system of remunerated commuted overtime).
